Key West’s tropical climate produces ideal orchid growing conditions – even in winter!

Thanks to our tropical climate, orchids bloom year-round in Key West. The USDA designates the Lower Florida Keys’ growing zone as Hardiness Zone 11b, with a minimum temperature of 45-50 (F), the only such zone in the lower 48. This photo shows an “Enciclia cordigera” orchid in bloom during early January.
