Looking towards the southernmost point, this postcard of the Casa Marina
Hotel shows an image nearly unrecognizable from the property today.
The large expanses of lawn have been replaces with three large swimming
pools and lush tropical landscaping. Today, with water that seems to flow
unlimited from the mainland via pipe, it is much easier to maintain landscaping.
But back when the hotel opened, water was mainly collected from the rain,
and planting was much more sparse.
